I first heard about Lissie when her minor hit, "When I'm Alone", debuted in the summer of 2011 on the VH1 Top 20 Countdown. So I wanted to look more into her catalog, and Amazon had listed a few other LP's and EP's. I ordered this one just last Christmas. The 5 song set on this EP is all covers. I love how superior her versions are compared to the original artists'.Pursuit Of Happiness: I didn't know this song at all, but I am very familiar of the name Kid Cudi. I love Lissie's self-deprecating humor roo ("I think I'll have a shot of tequila before I start the song!"), but she wasn't the least bit off-key. Great guitar solo too!Bad Romance: This is my absolute favorite song out of the 5. I love Lady Gaga to death, but let's face it people, Lissie's version holds out much better. And I would certainly love to hear Gaga herself do an acoustic version of this song. :)Games People Play: Again, a very solid cover. 2 other bands have also covered this song: Tesla and Inner Circle.Nothing Else Matters: As great as Metallica did this song, Lissie also takes a very bold, daring leap, and it really pays off. And just when you thought the song was done -- here comes another guitar solo!! :)The Ship Song: This is my second favorite track on the EP. I love how quiet and lush the arrangement is. Although I am familiar with Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, I don't really know his music. I'll have to look into his catalog too.Since this release -- and her 2011 debut "Catching A Tiger" -- Lissie has released a live album and her more recent studio effort, "Back To Forever." I'm in the process of listening to those as well. But to all music lovers, Lissie is a consummate artist that you don't want to miss out on!! :) You'll be glad that you didn't!!
